Government offices and their functioning are studied in the course of MA Political Science. International affairs and relationships, political theories, history, political economy, foreign policies, public administration, information technology and others are also studied. Hence the career opportunities for MA Political science student will be mainly of this kind.
Can join in teaching profession in the subjects of Political science or international relations in colleges and universities. They can be joined on the basis of the performance in the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC at national level or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) conducted by respective states at the state level. Civil services are another nice option. Indian Foreign Services can be selected in it. The test intended for Civil Services will have general studies paper. Questions from Indian polity and current affairs topics are also present. Subject study will help for this purpose. Media newspapers and television channels provide the opportunities if good writing skills are present. Also, research work can be taken up in the institute for defense studies and analysis, center for policy research, Indian council of world affairs, Institute for peace and conflict resolutions, India international centre, Nehru Memorial Museum and research and information systems related to allied countries.
