How the IIT-JEE rankings will be given?

In the prestigious Educational organizations, like IIT securing a seat is a dream for the students. To fulfill their desire with Intermediate, they will undergo very seriously two years IIT Oriented Training. On 11th April, 2009 the IIT- JEE entrance examination will be conducted, so tension has been prevailed between the students and their parents.

If the candidate has secured eligibility in the entrance examination, in  15 IIT  institutes   available in India and IT- BHU, ISMU – Dhanbad admission will be provided. to him.

In the national wide entrance examination of IIT –JEE 2009,   3,84,977 number candidates have appeared. Among them 10,035 candidates were passed.  At present

8, 295 seats are available. Minimum 5 lack candidates may appear for this entrance examination. From our state 60,000 number of candidates have appeared to this examination. From the said candidates, 2000 candidates have secured seats. Among all candidates our State candidates  have stood in Top position. As per expectations one lakh candidates may attend in the present entrance examination of IIT –JEE 2010

Qualifications: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, as subjects,  and 60% marks in Intermediate examination are required

Age: 25 years

Opportunity: 2 times only

There are two papers Negative marks are there for wrong answer.

Procedure for deciding cut off marks

In IITs the cut off marks will be decided in two types

  1. Subject wise maximum marks secured by the last 20% candidates will be taken into consideration.
  2. Subject wise minimum marks secured by last 20% candidates will be taken into consideration

How many marks will be considered for allotment of seat?

The candidates who have obtained 60% to 70% marks, can choose any IIT  located in India  and desired course.

The candidates who have obtained 40% to 50% marks they can be provided Admission in any IIT

Preparation of merit list procedure: Only the candidates who have written the examination papers of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry Paper 1& 2, will be considered in the merit list. Based on total marks secured by the candidate in three subjects the average marks will be decided.

Minimum eligibility marks (MQMR) for ranking: From each subject the minimum eligibility marks secured candidates have only qualified. Based on the average score of the candidate the rank will be given to him. For example the candidates who secured average  marks of 10.44, 10.12, 7.81 in the subjects of Chemistry, Mathematics  Physics,  but  for getting ranks the candidates in the examinations of Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, have to secure of minimum 11,11.8 marks. If they got common score first Chemistry , secondly Mathematics and Physics will be considered.

Common Merit List. (CML): Based on (MQMR) the (CML) will be prepared. In the present year CML 8,295 candidates are there. Among these candidates, the last candidate marks are called the cut of marks. In this year the last candidate in merit list has secured marks 178, the same marks called CML cut of score.

Category merit list : The separate list prepared for the candidates of OBC, SC,  ST  & PD is called as Category list.

Preparatory merit list: The list prepared for selection of candidates of SC, ST, PD for these courses is called as preparatory merit list. In this merit list the number of candidates will be above1.5 times more than total vacant seats.

Extended merit list: With the details of candidates of General, OBC SC, ST, PD extended merit list will be prepared. As per this list the candidates admissions can be provided in the Institutions of Indian institute of Space Science Technology, IIST, India, Institute of Science Education and Research, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of petroleum technology, Indian Institute of merit time studies. The candidates list will be prepared 6 times more than the main merit list candidates.
