The youngsters male and female are eligible to write this examination of Combined Defense Services (CDSE). On success in this examination, candidates can enter into the Indian Defense protection services.

The union public service commission (UPSC) at national level is conducting this examination of Combined Defense Services (CDSE). With degree qualification every body can appear to this examination. Degree /B.Tech final year students can also apply for this examination. In Andhra Pradesh, the examination centers are available at Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.

After selection as Armed forces Officer by CDSE examination, the candidate can choose his interested field particularly in the courses of Flying, Navigation, Architecture, Administration Logistics, Accounts, Engineering, Computer Science, and in Communication and technology.

All the courses are having attractive pay and allowances, and wonderful life style with dignity is added to this job. Style and the facilities available in this job, are not available in any other jobs. With the facilities provided the selected candidates can spent their life with happy and in healthy atmosphere. Selection: C.D.S. selection procedure will be conducted in two stages. (for selected candidates, one year basic training will be there in Indian Military Academy, Dehradun / National academy, Goa / Air force Academy, Hyderabad)

First stage:   D.S. written examination – 300 marks

1.English 100marks – 2 hours

2.General knowledge 100 marks – 2 hours (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Geography, History, Political sciences, International & National affairs)

3. Elementary Mathematics – 100 marks – two hours (Arithmetic, Unitary method Menstruation , Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Co-coordinated Geometry , statistics)

These are all in objective model. The mathematics paper is in matriculation standards, the other papers are degree standard – Total 300 marks

Second stage: Service selection board – 900 marks

1. Basic perfection (Verbal – Non verbal)

2. Physiological tests (Word association test, thematic operations test, Situation reaction test)

3. Grouping test service (Indoor, out door tests)

4. Personal interview

The two stages total marks : 1200

The written examination preparation is most important

The SSB interview will be conducted on measures of scientific with lengthy procedure.  Generally the candidates will get maximum 50-55 % marks in interview. So, more importance is to be given for this written examination.

-Good memory power, knowledge is useful to write the C.D.S. examination.

-One special paper for 100 marks is meant particularly for English grammar. Hence practice in English Grammar is required. The appendix available in the last pages of Ren and Martin book are to be read and concentration on the exercises are compulsory required for the candidates, who are appearing for this prestigious examination.

For mathematics examination, the tenth class and Intermediate text books have to be revised perfectly. On the branches of Algebra, Arithmetic, Trigonometry, Calculus, 3D geometry, Mensuration, special concentration is required. Always it is better to practice the Shortcuts.

General knowledge paper is related to subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Zoology science etc. The tenth class books are the basics, so the same can be read perfectly. Other than the science subjects, the subjects of Geography, History, Political sciences are having very expanded issues. Take the experts of these subjects advice at the time of preparation of examination. To get good command on the issues of National and International affairs the reading of daily news papers and hearing of radio news are useful. Subject wise experts guidance is required for good preparation and success.
